Sterling Rides

This program involves driving the senior who can no longer drive to his/her doctor’s appointment, the grocery store, errands, etc. Hours are flexible - you choose the ride(s) you’d like to provide each week. Evenings and weekends trips are possible. Available in Chatham County.

Friendly Caller

Phone seniors from your home once or twice a week to make sure they're doing OK. You can sign up for as many calls as you'd like.

Seasonal Care Packages

Help decorate and fill gift boxes or baskets with small household items. Make as many as you want and at your own convenience. Suggested items include: personal care items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste etc.), notepads, envelopes, stamps, pens and pencils, lotion, Kleenex, socks, batteries, etc. Perfect for a group holiday project!

Mailings/Office AssistanCE

Help with mailings, filing, or occasional receptionist duties at the front desk. Any time is good for helping around the office. Mailings occur twice a month to distribute our calendars and newsletters to clients and volunteers. Call for schedule details.

Yard Work

Help our seniors with minor yard repairs and maintenance. These are often group weekend projects at a senior’s home.

SCI Kitchen

Help prepare meals in our commercial kitchen Monday - Friday any time between 6am and 11am. Volunteers can help for 2-3 hours at a time. Must be 18 years old.

We also have special seasonal projects such as blanket drives, painting, and card making.
There is something for everyone!
