Many years in customers service and as a first responder have given me the passion to help and care for others. I’m excited for this incredible opportunity to be the director of the neighborhood center in Thunderbolt, and be a part of SCI team.

From a very young age, I knew I wanted a career that involved helping people in the community. Here at SCI, I found an organization whose mission is to help people in our community age successfully, so I know this is the perfect place for me.

I am proud and honored to be a member of the experienced SCI team helping our local population successfully age in place for over 50 years. SCI is unique in that they offer a comprehensive and cutting-edge approach to holistic aging resources under one roof. The SCI team goes above and beyond the general expectations to meet and exceed the needs of a diverse aging population and their families.

I choose to work at SCI so that I can better serve my community. Working for an ethical nonprofit allows me to focus on client care, rather than the volume of people attending the center. I am proud to lead an excellent team that helps mentally and physically impaired adults maintain their independence. Our adult daytime care center helps people to remain in their own home, which is a service I hope to utilize in the future. I love my clients!

Passion and a service spirit have guided me throughout my career. Having the opportunity to serve at SCI provides a platform to positively share my passion and put to use my experience to serve our aging population in Savannah and our neighboring communities. Sustenance is necessary and our Meals on Wheels program provides a wonderful solution for many who are looking for a wholesome alternative to cooking. Here’s to “cooking for you!”

What an honor to be part of SCI! In my 40-plus years of nursing I have never worked for a greater company. The love and care they give is like no other I have ever seen or been a part of. They are always dependable, having every recourse available for people in need, including their families, right down to their pets. What they give to our seniors is beyond words.

The Senior Companion Program is near and dear to my heart. It is a very successful program serving two senior populations. I get to work with an amazing group of seniors who choose to give back to their community by improving the quality of life of seniors in need of assistance. Through the work of all of SCI’s amazing departments I get the satisfaction of being a part of an organization that strives daily to make a difference in people’s lives.

Our mission is to help seniors age successfully, and I intend on doing just that! Working for Senior Citizens, Inc. allows me to advocate for seniors in our community. We have a variety of services that allow seniors to remain independent, and I truly enjoy exploring those options with clients.

When people over the age of 55 in Savannah expressed a desire for academically rigorous educational programming to enrich their retirement years, I was pleased to join SCI to establish The Learning Center. TLC is a place where the humanities come to life through courses, lectures, special learning programs, and educational travel. TLC has become an extended family of learners where each member benefits from the rich life experiences and knowledge of the others, and all enjoy the friendships that result from common encounters in the classroom.

I was born to parents who are from the WWII era so I have always been around older people. The baby-boomer generation has always held a special place in my heart. We owe them the dignity and respect that they earned by paving the way to the life that we live today. I can see that SCI is a place that holds the same values that I do about seniors. As soon as I visited, I knew that this was the place for me.
